If you’re planning an exciting function or event for 25 or more people, then Cyan Bar and Lounge offers a fantastic range of flexible function spaces for both private and corporate events.
Whether you’re looking for Mentone restaurants, Mordialloc restaurants or just a nice open function space to host a celebration, we have a venue that you’re sure to love.

Weddings & receptions – Cyan works well for a relaxed reception, engagement party or post-ceremony gathering: the Upstairs Lounge for a full private takeover, or the Back Bar for something smaller and more intimate. Tell us your numbers and the vibe you’re after and we’ll put a package together.
Wakes & memorials – We know this isn’t a celebration in the usual sense, and we’ll treat it that way. The Back Bar or Upstairs Lounge can be set up privately for a wake or memorial gathering, with catering and timing built around what your family needs. Get in touch and we’ll talk it through, no pressure.
We provide stylish, welcoming function spaces with tailored food and beverage packages and low venue hire fees, within our standard opening hours.
We also accept corporate bookings outside our standard trading hours, making our venue ideal for team workshops, off-site meetings, and private daytime events.
Upstairs Lounge & Terrace
Our largest and most versatile function space, suitable for all types of events.
The upstairs lounge includes its own private bar, private bathrooms, TV, and access to a spacious terrace area, perfect for both indoor and outdoor entertaining.
Capacity: Up to 120 guests (standing), or 50 seated.
Private access until 10:30 PM (extensions available, plus ticketed events).
Ideal for milestone birthdays, engagement parties, corporate events & presentations.

Back Bar & Beer Garden
A comfortable and semi-private space tucked behind the main bar, this area features booth-style seating, its own TV, and is adjacent to the garden courtyard, offering guests multiple areas to spread out and relax.
Private until 10:30 PM (then opens to the public)
Suited for smaller functions, corporate drinks, and casual gatherings
Perfect for sports nights, reunions, or informal celebrations
Main Bar Area
Located in the heart of the venue, the main bar area includes high tables, standing room, and close access to the dance floor. Available for early bookings of large groups or walk-ins, this space is best enjoyed prior to DJ start time at 9 PM.
Best suited for early-evening gatherings or pre-event meetups
Great for social clubs, farewell drinks, or casual catch-ups
Access to bar, bathrooms and full venue vibe

Function food, made in-house 🍽️
Everything is cooked fresh in our kitchen and brought out for your guests. Pick your favourites from our cold, hot and premium bites, or add platters to share. Packages start from $20pp.
We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, and our kitchen has separate gluten-free and vegan fryers.

Can I book a private function at Cyan?
How many people can I have for a private function?
Private Upstairs Lounge functions generally start from 25 guests. Larger events can be discussed depending on the event and requirements.
What does a Cyan function include?
Our function arrangements can include private use of the Upstairs Lounge, food packages, drinks and bar-tab options depending on the event.

Can I bring my own DJ or entertainment?
External DJs and contractors may be able to perform at Cyan, subject to our venue and insurance requirements.

Can I book a table?
Cyan is a walk-in bar rather than a restaurant, so we don’t take individual table bookings — it’s first-in, best-seated, with most tables in our back bar. We’d suggest arriving early, especially on Friday and Saturday nights and when there’s live music.
How do I enquire about a function?
The quickest way is our enquiry form – tell us your date, rough guest numbers and the kind of event, and we’ll come back with options and a quote.
Does Cyan serve food?
Do you have gluten-free or vegan food?
Yes. We have gluten-free and vegan options, and our kitchen uses separate fryers for appropriate menu items.
